Another candidate running for the White House, ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
We are talking about the Republican governor of Florida Ron DeSantis , who has Italian origins (he is descended from immigrants from Campania, Molise and Abruzzo).
The announcement on Twitter, during a confrontation with Elon Musk.
Born in 1978, married to former TV presenter Casey Black, after a first term he was re-elected governor of Florida in 2022, with a gap of almost 20% over the Democratic candidate.
The decision to announce the candidacy on Twitter was much criticized by the entourage of the other big name running for the nomination of the Grand Old Party, namely Donald Trump.
"The announcement on Twitter is perfect for Ron DeSantis, in this way he doesn't have to interact with people and the media can't ask him questions," the former president's spokesmen ironically.
