A fierce clash between Donald Trump and Rupert Murdoch's Wall Street Journal.
Casus belli: the news published by the newspaper of a letter with "obscene" content that the president of the USA supposedly wrote for the 50th birthday of Jeffrey Epstein , the financier – now deceased – who ended up on trial for paedophilia .
After the article was published, Trump, through his social media platform Truth, announced his intention to sue the Wall Street Journal, the publishing company News Corp and Rupert Murdoch himself, claiming that the letter was a fake.
Wall Street, Trump wrote, “has truly revealed itself to be a disgusting, filthy rag , and by writing defamatory lies like this, it demonstrates its desperation to stay relevant.”
