Israeli fire is hitting Syria, where a loud explosion was heard in the capital. "The heaviest shots have been fired," said Defense Minister Israel Katz, publishing a Syrian television video showing a news anchor caught in the background of an Israeli attack in central Damascus. State television also reported raids near the Defense Ministry headquarters.

Katz had previously warned the Damascus regime of heavy attacks if regime forces did not withdraw from Sweida, a Druze town in the south. Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu later urged Israeli Druze not to cross the border into Syria and described the situation in Sweida, a Druze-majority town in southern Syria, as "very serious."

Clashes continued in the city today.
