Israel risks being banned from all international football competitions. UEFA is reportedly considering the suspension, with a decision expected as early as next week, and a majority of members leaning in favor, according to the British Times.
If confirmed, the doors to the next World Cup would be closed for Israel and Maccabi Tel Aviv would be excluded from the Europa League .
Israeli Sports Minister Miki Zohar told local media that he was working with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to avert the measure.
