Ukrainian drones struck a bridge in St. Petersburg, Russia, connecting two parts of the city. The extent of the damage to the structure, which spans the Korabelny Seaway and is part of the Western High-Speed Diameter toll highway, is still being assessed.

The bridge, 622 meters long and 39 meters wide, with eight lanes, is located about 4.5 kilometers from the St. Petersburg oil terminal, where a fire broke out after a drone attack the same night.

The attack is part of a broader wave of unmanned aerial vehicle strikes that have affected St. Petersburg, Moscow, and the Leningrad region. Fires in other infrastructure and power outages in some areas have also been reported.

Meanwhile, regarding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Defense Minister Guido Crosetto announced in an interview with the BBC that "by the end of the year there will probably be a new aid package for Ukraine."
