A Russian drone strike has hit a park in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine, killing at least six people, including three children.

"Unfortunately, the death toll after the Russian attack on Nova Vodolaga stands at six, including three children," regional governor Oleg Synegubov said on Telegram, previously reporting 14 injuries.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ivan Vyhivskyi reported on Telegram that several people, including families with children, were in the park at the time of the attack, and posted photos of destroyed toys and a stroller.

Meanwhile, the Pope called Kiev: "Today, Leo XIV had a telephone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine." The Holy See Press Office stated: "During the conversation, the Holy Father recalled the grave situation in the town of Oleshky, in the Kherson region, referring to the request for a humanitarian truce already presented to the President of the Russian Federation. The Holy Father expressed the hope that the cooperation of both parties would allow the arrival of food and medical aid and the voluntary and safe evacuation of the civilian population ."
