On the night from Saturday to Sunday, Russian forces carried out one of the most massive attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kiev since the beginning of the war.

Over the course of five hours, more than 40 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and Zircon hypersonic missiles were launched at the city.

Sirens sounded in the capital around 1:30 a.m. and, after air defenses were activated, dozens of missiles reached the city in less than an hour, causing loud explosions that were felt in several neighborhoods.

A second alert was issued at 6:30 a.m., when further impacts were reported. The provisional toll stands at at least one dead and seven injured.

A three-story building in the central Shevchenkivskyi district caught fire and partially collapsed, while rescue teams pulled several people from the rubble and recovered the body of one victim. Fires and damage were also reported in four other areas of the capital, affecting residential buildings, offices, and a dormitory.
