Pilot dies after take-off: fear on board a flight with almost 300 passengers

Moments of fear on board a LATAM airline flying between the USA and Santiago de Chile with almost 300 passengers on board.

According to what has been learned, after take-off from Miami, the captain had a sudden illness, which proved to be fatal and the co-pilot was forced to request an emergency landing at Panama's Tocumen airport.

Here the commander received immediate medical assistance, but attempts to save his life were unfortunately in vain.

The Latam company has addressed its condolences to the family of the commander, underlining that "all the safety protocols necessary to safeguard the life of the pilot affected by the illness were carried out during the flight".
