One victim and 57 injured: this is the toll of the accident that took place on line 3 of the Mexico City subway . A convoy hit the rear of a train that preceded it and which was stopped for unspecified reasons between the stations of La Raza and Potrero, in a tunnel.

The Civil Protection, the Fire Brigade, the men of the National Guard and the army intervened on the spot to evacuate the wounded and transfer them to hospitals. Four were trapped between the metal sheets and were freed with the use of special equipment. Eyewitnesses said that the impact took the passengers by surprise, dozens began to scream and run in panic in the tunnel surrounded by darkness and thick smoke.

This accident follows the more serious one that occurred in May when the collapse of an overhead bridge on Line 12 left 26 dead and over 80 injured.
