"The meeting touched on the question of the Italian student Regeni and cooperation to reach the truth and obtain justice," said the official spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency, Ambassador Bassam Radi.

The Egyptian president, added Radi, also expressed " his appreciation for the extension of bilateral relations between the two countries , and his aspiration that Ms. Meloni's visit to Egypt represents a new impetus for the development of those relations that they are based on deep historical links with political, economic, security and cultural dimensions ".
