The four soldiers of the Sassari Brigade who were injured in the attack on the Unifil base near Shama, in Lebanon, are all Sardinian.

The raid ( HERE THE RECONSTRUCTION ) was carried out by Hezbollah militants with at least two rockets , which hit a bunker and a logistics post. Fortunately, from what we understand , the conditions of the four soldiers are not serious. "They are not in hospital and have already spoken to their families, reassuring them that they are fine," Ansa reports. The names and places of origin of the four have not been disclosed.

The incident has provoked harsh reactions from the Italian government . Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni , expressing her "closeness" to the wounded soldiers and to our contingent engaged in the UN mission in the Middle East, said she was "deeply indignant" , while Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Defense Minister Guido Crosetto defined the attack as "unacceptable" .

Messages of solidarity for the wounded soldiers also arrived from the governor of Sardinia Alessandra Todde and from the president of the regional council Piero Comandini .

The Sassari Brigade assumed command of the Italian contingent and the Western sector of UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) last August and will remain in the operational area until February.

The 500 “Dimonios” of Sassari belong to the Brigade Command, the 151st Infantry Regiment, the Logistics Regiment, the Fifth Engineer Regiment of Macomer and the 45th Command and Tactical Support Department “Reggio”.
