Fourth day of truce in the conflict in the Middle East. Israel has received the list of 11 hostages due to be released today from Hamas . The Wall Street Journal reports this citing Egyptian government sources. The news is also confirmed by Haaretz.

Even yesterday, after Saturday's tensions, which had raised fears of a resumption of the conflict , the agreements continued without any hitch: 14 Israelis and 3 Thais were released in exchange for the release of 39 Palestinian prisoners. But the good news may not be over, with the "ceasefire" which - expiring today - could continue. The leader Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking with Joe Biden , said that "there is a plan of understanding with Hamas which provides for the release of 10 hostages for each additional day of truce".

But if in words things seem to be going well, in reality the situation is decidedly more complex. The Prime Minister of Qatar , Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, told the Financial Times that to extend the temporary ceasefire Hamas must locate dozens of hostages (more than 40), including women and children, held by civilians and factions in the Gaza Strip. According to the Qatari prime minister, "it is not clear to what extent Hamas can locate the other hostages", i.e. those who are not under its direct control. «One of the objectives (of the truce) – he continues – is for the organization to have time to search for the rest of the missing (kidnapped) people». Furthermore, according to the sheikh, the idea of eradicating Hamas from the Gaza Strip is unrealistic: «In the end, its destruction through the continuation of this war will never happen. It will only fuel the narrative of extremism and radicalization. We need a political solution that guarantees the security of the Palestinian people and the Israeli people ."
