From Monday 20 December in Austria you can enter without restrictions only with the third dose of the anti Covid vaccine carried out.

The vaccinated who have not received the third dose and recovered will need to be in possession of a negative molecular swab taken within the previous 72 hours. The unvaccinated, on the other hand, will have to observe ten days of quarantine, which can be interrupted after five days with a negative molecular swab.

The measure does not apply to children under the age of 12, pregnant women and people who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons.

The new measures were announced by Health Minister Wolfgang Mueckstein.

For cross-border commuters, the “3 G” pass is sufficient, ie cured, vaccinated or tested.

The chairman of the lift operators, Franz Hoerl, called the measure "totally out of this world". With such short notice, he commented, it would not be viable for those traveling several days to arrive in Austria.
