What is the demographic state of Sardinia? What are the main movements? What are the prospects?

It is discussed on Tuesday 21 June at 5.30 pm at the Foundation of Sardinia in via San Salvatore da Horta in Cagliari on the occasion of the presentation of the 2022 Report on data from the regional migration observatory .

The dossier will be exhibited by Mauro Carta, Vania Statzu, Marco Sideri and Francesco Pitirra. Ester Cois (sociologist of the University of Cagliari), Daniela Sitzia (director of ANCI Sardinia), Samuele Piddiu (secretary of CGIL Sardinia) will discuss it. The work will be concluded by the Regional Labor Councilor Alessandra Zedda.

“The demographic situation of Sardinia - explains Mauro Carta, president of the Regional Emigration-Immigration Center of Acli Sardegna (CREI-ACLI) - is worse than what ISTAT represented; in 2030 we already risk having one and a half million inhabitants. Unfortunately, the health response to Covid was also negative and this aspect had a further impact. The numbers of emigration are on the rise and there seems to be no ability to reverse the trend ; Unfortunately Sardinia does not seem to be a country for young people ”.
