«Last Sunday an operator in the sector sailing towards Capo Feno was able to observe a merchant ship leaving behind it a yellow trail, dense and of dubious nature, for several hundred metres».

This was reported by the Northern League member of Santa Teresa Gallura, Dario Giagoni. He adds: «Enough spillage of polluting material into the sea. Stop the tramps and the environmental damage they cause: I hoped it was an outdated topic, but instead I received yet another report", he says.

The parliamentarian recalls how the waters of the Strait of Bonifacio, in addition to being a natural reserve that extends for approximately 80,000 hectares, are home to numerous species of fish and have a very important tourist and naturalistic value. « I think it is absurd», continues Giagoni, «to allow the so-called sea carts to still, in 2024, deface and ruin our sea undisturbed. After having made sure that the report from citizens and the Ecozoophile Guards Association had reached the bodies responsible for supervision in these places", adds the League deputy, "I decided to present an urgent question to the Minister of the Environment and Transport and Foreign Affairs to ask for active intervention on the issue through every useful instrument in the possession of the Italian Government".
