They showed up in a hotel in Tortolì pretending to be agents of an imaginary international police force and pretended to be able to view the rooms and also to have a discount. Faced with the resistance of the receptionist , they pulled out a gun and placed it on the counter , with the intention of being more "persuasive".

But the operator was not intimidated and raised the alarm. At that point the investigations began, ending with the denunciation of a man and a woman of Polish origin, who will have to answer for private violence and threat aggravated with weapons.

The couple, after realizing that the ploy to scrounge - or rather extort - a stay at affordable prices was failing, disappeared. But the investigations conducted by the Tortolì carabinieri made it possible to trace them.

The military also identified the rented car in which the two were moving and seized numerous credit cards and even the fake card used to qualify as police officers.

The gun used for the threats, however, was not recovered. Probably the two got rid of it during the escape.
