Arzachena, alarm raised after the discovery of a war device in Mannena: swimming is prohibited.

A suspected explosive device was found this afternoon along the Mannena-Barca Bruciata coastline. The mayor of Arzachena, Roberto Ragnedda, has therefore issued an ordinance temporarily prohibiting swimming along a stretch of coastline near Mannena-Barca Bruciata, starting this afternoon, Monday, August 17. Effective immediately and until the need for bathing has ceased, which will be declared with a subsequent ordinance following the removal and/or cleanup of the explosive device, access, transit, parking, and swimming for people, animals, and vehicles of any kind are prohibited throughout the entire area.

The ordinance, the Municipality specifies, is a precautionary measure to protect public safety. The Local Police Command is placing prohibition signs in the affected areas and will ensure compliance with the order.
