The Sardinian protest against wind energy was brought to Cambridge University thanks to Sara Corona, an archaeologist from Jerzu and researcher there.

During the online conference on Wednesday afternoon, Matteo Mandis, deputy mayor of Villanovaforru and Antonio Muscas, member of the Su Entu Nostu committee illustrated the situation in Sardinia while representatives of the Zapotec communities of Mexico and Saami communities of Northern Europe described the same problem in their lands to agree that mega wind projects threaten territories with little political influence as indigenous Mexican and Saami communities also face similar problems of energy speculation and land occupation.

The conference highlighted the importance of a fair and sustainable energy transition, proposing Renewable Energy Communities as an alternative.
