White coffins and mourning women: in Cagliari a march against exercises and “war charity”

Procession of the "permanent garrison of the Sardinian people" this morning in Cagliari against the rearmament and the inter-force military exercise Joint Stars 2025, the umpteenth involving the Island.

In particular, this year the protest is focused on the charity organized by the Defense in parallel to the exercise. "And the Region and the Municipality of Cagliari are sponsors of this false do-goodism with which they try to make a military operation fun, I am referring in particular to the free screenings for children", explains Gianfranco Cau, one of the organizers.

Not only that, he adds, "the funds dedicated to military spending could be allocated to the health system." About sixty people are taking part in the procession. The men in white overalls carry three small coffins ("those of the children killed with the bombs manufactured by Rwm"). The women wear black clothes as a sign of mourning and each one has in their hands photos of children in war scenarios.

The demonstration crossed via Roma in both directions, blocking traffic at times.
