The mayors of the municipalities of Valledoria, Castelsardo, Badesi, Trinità d'Agultu and Vignola, Viddalba, Tergu, and Santa Maria Coghinas have launched a joint alarm on the serious critical issues arising from the water emergency that hit their territory between 19 and 24 May.
The interruptions in the water supply have caused significant inconvenience and potential damage to all components of the local fabric.
The situation, already reported to Enas (the governing body of the Sardinia area), has highlighted the urgent need for a coordinated approach to address future emergencies. Considering that the population of these municipalities quadruples or quintuples during the summer period, the risks for economic operators, residents and tourists are enormous.
To avert and prevent further damage, the municipalities involved have requested the activation of an operational technical table .
"The recent water emergency has shown us once again how crucial it is to have a clear and shared plan - said the mayor of Valledoria, Marco Muretti - We must define a system of skills, actions and communication to manage these calamity situations, especially considering the work on existing pipelines and the imminent arrival of the summer season. It is a question of responsibility towards our citizens and our economic activities. No municipality can face this challenge alone ".
To this end, the bodies involved - including Enas, ASL n° 1 Sassari and the interested Municipalities - have been called for a meeting on Tuesday 10 June 2025, at 10 am, in the council chamber of the Municipality of Valledoria . The initiative, shared and signed by all the Mayors of the municipalities involved, has also been forwarded for information to the Prefect of Sassari, underlining the seriousness of the situation and the need for synergic action at all institutional levels to safeguard the well-being of the territory.
