More prevention, but also greater controls and an expansion of the number of police forces in the Nuorese area, where video surveillance will also be implemented. These are the solutions that emerged from the meeting of the Committee for public order and safety, convened by the prefect of Nuoro, Giancarlo Dionisi, following the recent spiral of violence recorded in some centers of the province.

The latest act of intimidation targeted the deputy mayor of Desulo , Sebastiano Maccioni, who received a letter with death threats. In recent days, other similar threats had been addressed to two marshals of the carabinieri, the deputy commander of the Desulo station and the commander of the Orosei station. The mayors of the area were present at the meeting.

«I had ample reassurances from the prefect on the monitoring of the situation and on the presence of the forces of order in the territory, both in terms of identifying those responsible for these acts and as regards prevention», says the mayor of Desulo, Giovanni Melis, « I was pleased to hear that the state will not back down and that work will be done on prevention to make respectable people feel safe and isolate two imbeciles who have exceeded the limit of decency".

In the coming days there will also be a visit from the prefect to the various centers of the Nuoro area.
