It was a busy evening yesterday in the tourist center of Villasimius, where a 41-year-old local man was arrested by the Carabinieri on charges of aggravated theft.

According to the reconstruction, the man allegedly stole a display case with silver jewelry from a gift and souvenir shop.

The robbery, however, was interrupted by the arrival of the military from the local station, alerted by a report indicating a theft in progress .

The 41-year-old was apprehended in nearby streets while attempting to flee with the stolen goods. He was apprehended and taken to the police station. The stolen items were recovered and returned to the business owner.

The man, who is presumed innocent until a final sentence is reached, is now at the disposal of the judicial authorities, who will evaluate any further measures.
