In a warehouse in Villacidro, 2,500 kilos of marijuana inflorescences and 500 drying plants were found and seized.

During the blitz of the Cagliari mobile squad, organized crime section, in collaboration with the Abbasanta crime prevention department, a 40-year-old already known to the police for drug production and trafficking was arrested.

The operation started at dawn yesterday. The policemen discovered that the man, originally from Nuoro, on his farm kept over two and a half tons of inflorescences and drying plants in jute sacks which, from the first sample analyzes carried out by the Department of Sciences of the University of Cagliari, had values of active principle (THC) on average 18 times higher than the maximum allowed limit.

On the illegal market, the drug would have yielded around one million euros. The arrested person was placed under house arrest. The judge validated the measure and sentenced the accused to 18 months with precautionary suspension of the sentence.

Plants and inflorescences were hidden in the midst of "legal" marijuana: during the operations, another 2,000 sativa marijuana plants and 250 kg of branches with inflorescences were seized, which from the analyzes had an active principle slightly higher than that allowed, to which there is no criminal sanction.
