Acquittal by the Court of Appeal of Caltanissetta for the art critic Vittorio Sgarbi , accused of "defamation in the press" about some of his releases regarding the Sardinia Region project for a viaduct at Poggio dei Pini , in Capoterra.

Sgarbi, who at the time of the complaint was resident in Calascibetta, assisted by the lawyers Gianpaolo Cicconi, of the Court of Macerata and Giovanni Di Giovanni of the Court of Caltanissetta, had been denounced, in 2018, by an official of the Sardinian region because he had published a video interview on YouTube in which he defined the denouncing engineer a "criminal", "a traitorous official, an imbecile, a madman", "someone who destroys the environment and wants to build a reinforced concrete bridge for only 7 million euros" .

His reference was to the projects relating to Poggio dei Pini , in Capoterra, where the Region of Sardinia wanted to build a 7 meter high and 120 meter long prestressed concrete viaduct in an area subjected to a double landscape constraint. EUR.

The art critic had been sentenced, in the first instance, by the court of Enna for aggravated defamation to pay 800 euros, legal costs and compensation in favor of the civil party. Instead, the Court of Appeal has now accepted the petition of Sgarbi's two lawyers according to which the complaint , presented by the Sardinian engineer, was irrational and, therefore, invalid.
