It was the first real test for the closure of via Roma in Cagliari, on the second day with the road closed on the side of the arcades.

And the traffic has literally gone crazy: endless queues and cars that proceeded at walking pace between 8 and 9 on the Lungomare New York 11 September (the old via Roma). Great chaos also in viale Colombo and piazza Deffenu. The buses are partly able to go faster because of the bus lanes, but they too get stuck at junctions.

The whole area is guarded by the local police, but the whistles of the agents trying to bring order are drowned out by the sound of horns.

It is the second day of closure, but the first real test given that yesterday via Roma was closed only after 9.30, when students and workers had already reached classes, offices and shops.

Journey times doubled or tripled, delayed entrances to school and work. And the blockade also affects other areas, up to Viale Ferrara, the Su Siccu area, blocked in both directions. Great chaos in Piazza D'Armi, especially when the bus stops to let the engineering students get off.

Among the possible solutions feared in recent days by the municipality, the reduction of season tickets for public transport in order to invite Cagliari citizens to leave their cars at home. While for Viale San Vincenzo the possibility of creating an additional lane is at stake by eliminating about ten parking spaces.
