Maxi seizure of cannabis in the Vallermosa countryside.

It was carried out by the men of the Forestry Corps , who identified, within two farms, as many as 342 kilos of marijuana , which could have earned about 1.4 million euros on the drug dealing market.

Following the operation, two young local farmers, aged 23 and 24, ended up in handcuffs. Two other people were reported.

Thirty forestry agents participated in the operation, supported by the bomb squad unit and the canine unit of the state police, as well as by the canine unit of the Carabinieri.

The blitz, carried out - as mentioned - in two livestock farms, made it possible to identify two large drug depots already processed, dried and packaged in bags of about one kilo each.

The first deposit was hidden among the vegetable gardens and was accessed through a trap door which in turn led to a fiberglass tank, completely underground. Inside, 230 bags containing over two quintals of marijuana were recovered.

The second deposit was a hiding place in a rocky ravine near another farm. Here 28 plastic bags were found that always contained marijuana, for a total weight of over one quintal.

In addition to drugs, packaging materials and equipment used for processing cannabis were also seized.
