The state of emergency relating to the coronavirus pandemic remains until March 31. The extension was decided yesterday by the Government which, however, does not require the use of masks even outdoors. On the other hand, the obligation to undergo vaccination by law enforcement, school staff and non-health workers employed in the health sector (while doctors and nurses have to do the "booster" dose) starts today. And those in Sardinia who prefer to be suspended from work, with suspension of salary, in order not to carry out the injection it is estimated that there are about 2 thousand, with inevitable repercussions on staff who are already in small numbers.

In particular, in the school sector, so far teachers without vaccines have presented themselves in class with the negative result of a swab, so there are no official numbers but the percentage of vaccinated among teachers and Ata is around 95 percent. Few teachers who refused immunization for a "principle" issue.

Just yesterday, the Ministry of Education sent a circular to schools to illustrate access to the new tool that will help school managers in the necessary checks. An alert system is also envisaged which will automatically allow for changes in the vaccination status of the staff. While among the police (police, carabinieri, financiers and armed forces) the vaccinated should be on average between 87 and 90%, making a summary calculation, in the island in these categories those not immunized should be 700 / 800.

For the health sector, "fewer than a hundred doctors in Sardinia are already suspended from service", says the president of the Order of Cagliari Giuseppe Chessa.
