A cyclist from the Czech Republic was rescued by the Areus helicopter in the Gorropu area, Urzulei territory. With his mountain bike, the 50-year-old was along the dirt road that leads from the base camp, on the former state road 125, towards the Oddoene valley floor.

The intervention of the Echo Lima 3 crew, which left from the Elmas base, ended around 9pm yesterday. The Alpine and Speleological Rescue teams and the Tortolì firefighters also operated on site. The crew of Echo Lima 3 recovered the cyclist, who was in that stretch together with two other travel companions, with the help of the winch.

He was transported to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari: he suffered a shoulder and arm fracture and was entrusted to healthcare personnel.
