"The doors of Cagliari are open in terms of hospitality and for any kind of help needed", said the mayor Paolo Truzzu, participating, in Florence, in the Mediterranean Forum that involves all the bishops and mayors of the main communities that overlook sul mare nostrum, where there was also talk of the war in Ukraine , invaded by Russian troops.

Truzzu also took the opportunity to "rally around the Ukrainian community of Cagliari".

From Palazzo Vecchio, the place where the works are held, the voice of the 60 mayors invited by the first citizen of Florence Dario Nardella is unanimous.

"We are very worried about the evolution of the situation - says Mayor Truzzu - and we can only strongly hope for a ceasefire. We are close to the people who suffer today. Cities are places of peace and shared life".

"Today we need political and diplomatic initiative, hoping for a greater incisiveness of Europe and of our leaders. Together with all the mayors we are available to help Ukrainian refugees and those fleeing the war".
