Of the 15 fires that ravaged Sardinia today, two are currently requiring the intervention of the regional fleet's aircraft.

A large fire in the Lu Sassu area of the municipality of Nulvi called in three Canadairs from Olbia, two light helicopters from the Limbara and Anela bases, and a Super Puma from Alà dei Sardi. The fire front expanded during the evening, and the regional and national firefighting team is attempting to save a section of Mediterranean scrub and cork oak forest. Two teams from the Forestas Agency, the Barracelli of Sedini, Nulvi, and Laerru, and volunteers from Tergu-Jerico also intervened on the scene.

The second fire occurred in Loculi, in the Crastu Ruju area: the fire is not only affecting agricultural areas and Mediterranean scrub, but has also threatened a service area and a Terna high-voltage overhead power line. Firefighting operations—still ongoing—are being coordinated by staff from the Orosei Forestry Corps Station, supported by personnel aboard two light helicopters and a Super Puma. Two teams from the Loculi-Mologo and Galtellì-Tuttavista Forestry Agency also responded to the scene.
