Arson raids in Gallura, there is a first arrest
A 49-year-old chef from Carbonia is in handcuffs
A 49-year-old man, originally from Carbonia, was arrested by the Carabinieri of the Territorial Department of Olbia on the orders of the investigating judge of Tempio.
He is a chef who has long lived in Palau.
According to the accusations of prosecutor Gregorio Capasso, the man started a fire in the center of Palau, destroying two cars and an ecological island. The events occurred on February 28th and only thanks to the intervention of the Fire Brigade were the buildings not damaged.
Investigations are still underway to completely reconstruct the story, also regarding the motive for the intimidating act.
The man, defended by the lawyer Marco Pettita, is under house arrest. The Carabinieri of the Territorial Department of Olbia are working on the incidents that occurred especially in the Gallura city and some people have already been identified, strongly suspected of having started the fires in recent months.
