Tragedy in Tergu: man falls into an escarpment, hits his head and dies

A man was found lifeless last night at the bottom of an escarpment, not far from his home.

The tragedy in Tergu, where Salvatore Dettori, 72, lived, the pensioner who died after falling on a cliff near his olive grove a few hundred meters from his home.

The alarm had been raised by his wife, who, not seeing him arrive for dinner, alerted the police. The men of the civil defense, the firefighters and the Carabinieri of Castelsardo immediately started the search.

The sad discovery a few hours later, in the night: the old man would have died instantly due to the injuries sustained after having fallen for several meters until he hit his head . With him he had the hunting rifle from which, according to the investigators, a shot had been fired, perhaps to drive away the wild boars, of which he complained about the damage caused to his crops.

For investigators, there would be no doubt about the accidental nature of the death.
