The garrison of farmers and shepherds set up in front of the Customs gate of the port of Cagliari was dismantled after about a month.

This was announced by Roberto Congia, one of the spokespersons of the Sardinian movement that has been protesting against Brussels' policies on agriculture for weeks.

The sector's agitation will end not only in Sardinia, but also in several other places in Italy and Europe.

The protest in Cagliari began on January 30th with the first tractors in front of the capital's airport and blocks of incoming and outgoing goods. Shepherds and farmers had set up gazebos to spend the night.

Among the initiatives of recent weeks there have also been traffic slowdowns at the entrance to the city and processions in the historic center to make known the reasons for the state of unrest.
