The 2021 tourist season in Sardinia has brought more than good numbers to the point of being considered close to those recorded in the pre-Covid era.

For the councilor for tourism Gianni Chessa the attendance was 16 million considering a stay of 5 nights for those who arrived by plane and 7 for those who arrived by ships. Above 10 million for Federalberghi.

In any case, a positive summer and a tail of the season that continues, thanks to a series of events, until the end of the year: sports, congresses, food and wine will bring many people to the island.

"Today, after the past nightmare, we can say that we have won the challenge: despite a late start and the difficulties for operators to find staff, we immediately had a boom, exciting July, August that surpassed that of 2019 and excellent September ”, underlines Chessa.

Paolo Manca, president of Federalberghi, already recalls the May numbers, considered unexpected. And then the full summer with a very positive balance, in particular August, and finally the physiological decline between September and October with the first closures of the accommodation facilities.

Furthermore, there are already the first encouraging signs also for 2022.
