A day of celebration for the community of Torralba , in the province of Sassari: Giuseppina Demontis celebrates her 100th birthday . On behalf of the municipal administration and all the citizens of Torralba, Mayor Pier Paolo Mulas and the municipal council visited Aunt Peppina to offer her the most affectionate birthday wishes and to celebrate with her family the extraordinary moment of her life.

"Turning one hundred years old means having lived through all the historical, social and cultural changes of our country ," said the mayor, "it also means becoming custodians of the historical memory and roots whose healthy principles allow us to be the society of today, and which we hope will be the healthy principles for a good society of tomorrow."

For the mayor it is a moment of pride "to have been able to celebrate this day in the company of aunt Peppina and her loved ones and we can only wish her many more happy days, surrounded by the love of the family who constantly take care of her."
