"I want to take up the two key words of the end-of-year speech of our President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella: hope and respect. I want to decline them for my New Year's greetings to all the Sardinians that I am honored to represent."

Thus Governor Alessandra Todde , with a post on her Facebook profile on the first day of the newly begun year 2025.

In his message, Todde highlighted the " hope of returning to being builders of peace and of being able to take care of ourselves in certain times and without the discrimination and uncivil limitations that have also recently made us wear the black jersey of Italy".

And again: "Hope to be able to raise generations of educated young people despite the government cuts, which would like to penalize our territories even more. Hope to create jobs and to see companies arise that enhance our environment and our specificities as an island, so as not to have to submit to the blackmail of multinationals like those recently seen in Sulcis".

"But to build in a lasting way - adds the governor - we need respect. We need to make those who have treated our Island as a mere resource for their business, perhaps using public money to reduce business risk, understand that the context is changing, that we are changing. That we are ready to welcome those who want to help build work, a prosperous and modern society and environment with us. But we demand respect. And we are ready to oppose those who demand that those who think that Sardinia is just a land to be squeezed and the Sardinians a workforce to be exploited and deceived".

Again, Todde continues, «in these nine months we have worked precisely for this. They have been nine intense months, in which we have not spared ourselves despite the difficulties encountered. But the work is visible. You can't lie about work and the first results are already beginning to emerge: on energy, on water, on young people, on transport, on public works, on work, on the defense of Sardinia. On healthcare, an extraordinary commitment is truly necessary and it will be my job to deal with it together with our majority with the method we have inaugurated: with our heads down and without sparing ourselves. For this I want to thank my council and the entire majority for their incessant support and for having given life to these solid relationships».

"To be able to vigorously face the important challenges on the horizon, we need the union of all. We need the unity of a people, of our magnificent people, with the institutions that represent them. It is the moment of us. We said it during the electoral campaign and we have made it a working method. Let's continue to stay united. I cannot imagine better auspices for a 2025 of change and transformation. Happy New Year to all the Sardinian people" , concludes Todde in his post.
