First the assault, then the pursuit and ramming of a car. In the case of the traffic accident that occurred on the night of April 27, 2026, on the Poetto seafront in Cagliari, which later turned out to be an attempted aggravated murder and bodily harm, the two young men arrested by the Police Headquarters' Flying Squad this morning agreed to a plea bargain, sentencing them to the maximum possible five years in prison.

They are Daniel Porcu , resident in Quartu Sant'Elena, and Alessio Loddo , resident in Monserrato, both eighteen years old.

Before Cagliari Court Judge Giorgio Alfieri, they were represented by lawyers Stefano Piras and Davide Mascia, who reached an agreement with prosecutor Diana Lecca. The boys who were sent off-road and their families were represented by lawyer Gianfranco Piscitelli.

According to the Flying Squad's reconstruction, the two boys had kicked and punched a family's car in front of a restaurant in Poetto. When the owner demanded an explanation, a vicious attack erupted, targeting him and his son, who had come to his father's aid.

The two then managed to take refuge in the car and drive away, along with three women (the driver's wife and minor daughter, and a friend of the girl), but, according to the charges, the group of attackers decided to chase them in an SUV, ramming the other car and forcing it off the road.
