Resistance, injuries and receiving stolen goods. These are the accusations that two young people will have to answer who, in a suspicious car, tried to escape the carabinieri, also trying to run over a soldier, who was then forced to open fire on the car to be able to stop it to proceed with the arrest.

It happened in the area of Settimo San Pietro, where the mad rush of the two, already known to the police, ended.

It all started in the territory of Selargius, on the SS 554. Here two "old acquaintances" of the carabinieri were noticed by an off-duty soldier while they were aboard a suspicious car.

The carabiniere, after keeping an eye on the two, gave the alarm to his colleagues, who carried out checks on the car, which was stolen days ago in Castiadas.

At that point, a 112 patrol intervened on the spot, at the sight of which the two young people in the car fled along the provincial road, even making a three-kilometer stretch against the traffic. Fortunately, at that moment the traffic was stopped for a red light, otherwise, in the event of a collision, the consequences could have been dramatic. At Settimo they diverted to a country road, in the locality of Is Cireddus, but found themselves facing another patrol of the carabinieri of the radio-mobile unit of the Quartu company, which ordered them to stop. The two young people, instead of stopping, first slowed down, and then threw themselves against one of the soldiers, a former Tuscania parà, to go on him. The carabiniere, with a reflex, managed to avoid the investment, discarding to the side. Then he fired a few gunshots at the runaway car, hitting the bumper and a tire. At that point the car spun, ending up in a reed bed on the side of the road. The carabinieri thus proceeded to arrest the two young men, who emerged unharmed from the accident.

The soldier who risked being hit was instead subjected to medical examinations.
