They were supposed to be at school, they were walking around the streets of the town. And it wasn't an isolated incident. On the contrary: those kids between 12 and 14 years old had accumulated a number of absences that led to the complaint against their parents, for failure to fulfill the obligation to attend school.
The incident emerged thanks to the territorial control service by the Carabinieri of San Gavino. The military noticed the group of six very young people in a time slot that should be dedicated to lessons and decided to investigate the situation further.
The checks revealed that the minors, all born between 2010 and 2013, had accumulated a number of unjustified absences well above the limits permitted by law: all the families involved, resident in San Gavino Monreale, were consequently reported.
