Thefts carried out and attempted, the Carbonia carabinieri in action

The activity of the Carabinieri of the Carbonia Company continues in the prevention and repression of theft episodes.

Last night the station soldiers found and confiscated 100 meters of copper cables destined for railway tracks. The material had been hidden behind a bush in via D'Annunzio, near the "Sirai" nomad camp, and it turned out to be the proceeds of a theft reported the previous day.

Everything was returned, upon recognition, to the injured party.

Also yesterday evening, a 45 year old from San Giovanni Suergiu and a 37 year old from Carbonia were reported on the loose for aggravated theft. The two, already known to the police, are indicted for the theft that occurred on 18 January last against a fruit and vegetable shop and were recognized by the carabinieri who viewed the images of the video surveillance systems that had filmed them while carried out the blow.

Finally, the military arrested a 19-year-old resident of Carbonia for attempted home burglary and resisting a public official. Around 10 pm last night, he was surprised while with a wooden scaffolding plank, used as a ram, he tried to force the front door of a house but, at the sight of the military, he fled. A brief chase ensued at the end of which the young man was stopped. He attempted to wriggle violently, and was eventually blocked. Put under house arrest, he will soon have a trial.
