The alleged murderer of Simone Concas, 19, from Bari Sardo, must remain in prison . According to the judge of the Cagliari Juvenile Court, there is a risk of his absconding and repeating the crime . The defense, led by Marcello Caddori, sought a less restrictive precautionary measure, based on the boy's full confession to the Carabinieri in the hours following the crime.
Preliminary Investigating Judge Roberta Contu also found that the young man fled at the sight of the Carabinieri in the moments following the crime (hence the risk of flight), while he claims to have gone to meet his father. The boy reiterated that he thought his sister, who had been hit by the car, was dead, while the investigating judge emphasized that his priority would not have been caring for his sister but chasing down the person who had hit her .
The charges filed against the suspect include murder and possession of the weapon used to commit the crime. The weapon initially appeared to have been recovered, but further investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office has scheduled an autopsy on Simone Concas's body for Monday in Lanusei, entrusting the task to pathologists Roberto Demontis and Danilo Fois.
