There is male DNA in the clothes worn by Manuela Murgia on the day of her death, which occurred in Cagliari on 4 February 1995 .

This is what emerges from the analysis of the clothing , which has been underway since July 7th. Around eighty samples were extracted , and one in four appears to contain genetic material attributable to a man.

Further investigation is needed, the samples will need to be amplified to be more precisely typed, only then will it be possible to hypothesize who that DNA belonged to: at the moment it is impossible to exclude any possibility, not even that of possible contamination .

Most of the samples containing male genetic material were extracted from the jeans and jacket, but it was also found in the bra and panties worn by Manuela.

In the mystery surrounding the Tuvixeddu canyon—where the sixteen-year-old was found the day after her death— only one person remains under investigation for murder: Manuela's ex-boyfriend, now 54.
