It was awarded as the third best pecorino in the world, in the world championship held in Newport, Wales, the one produced by the Radicas agricultural company, Otto Passi company, founded just a year ago in Noragugume by young people under 40 Rita and Luca Tolu , together with Paolo Musu .

Hard work, high professionalism and above all passion. A mix that has made possible an excellent result, which has found worldwide recognition, within the contest "World cheese award 2023" . An event that hosted the best cheese producers in the world, from small artisans to large companies. Cheesemakers, retailers, buyers, consumers and tasters judged 4,453 cheeses from 42 countries, divided into 98 categories .

Among these excellences Sardinia also stood out with "Otto Passi" by Noragugume. The company is managed by the lawyer Rita Tolu who in partnership with her brother Luca (head of the breeding) and her husband Paolo Musu (production manager) has returned to her origins and decided to devote herself to the management of the family farm , "Radicas", founded by his father Michele Tolu, a native of Fonni.

The dairy is part of the "Valides" project, coordinated by the regional agency Agris, for the characterization and protection of the microbial biodiversity of raw materials to be processed and finished products. All this brought them to Wales, where their 180 day superior pecorino "Otto Passi" took the bronze medal, making it the third best cheese in the world in the Pecorino category . "We do not consider this award a goal - says Rita Tolu - but a springboard towards the international market, where we want to bring our cheeses, telling the story of Sardinia for young people".
