After a day of relative calm, Sardinia has once again issued a weather warning for strong winds and storm surges. The regional Civil Protection Department has issued a warning valid from 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 19th, until 11:59 PM on Friday, February 20th.
Starting tomorrow afternoon and continuing until late Friday evening, strong west-northwest winds will blow across the island, with local and temporary gusts reaching gale force. A reduction in winds is expected from Friday afternoon, but the winds will remain strong until late evening.
The western and northern coasts of Sardinia will be affected by west-northwest swells. The peak swell is expected on Friday morning, with a gradual decrease starting in the evening.
