The attempts to award public service maritime connections to the smaller islands of Sardinia have failed completely. In addition to the tenders for La Maddalena and San Pietro, which were deserted a few days ago, the procedure to guarantee connections to Asinara also ended with nothing done.

Even though the company Ensamar Delcomar, led by Franco Del Giuduce, was the only candidate, the only one to respond positively to the previous call from the Region, the offer was deemed "non-compliant" by the tender commission following the analysis of some points, including the failure to indicate in the economic-financial plan the value of the ferry's residual useful life.

The territorial continuity service on the Porto Torres-Cala Reale line, the subject of the third lot, was the only one waiting to be defined. Even in this case the conclusion was not positive. The connections will probably be guaranteed without interruption with an extension in favor of Delcomar which offers the transport service to and from Asinara via the ferry “Sara D”.
