Even in Sardinia, the Super green pass drives the anti-Covid vaccination campaign.

In concomitance with the entry into force of the "reinforced green certificate" , in fact, the administration on the island has undergone a sharp acceleration. The numbers are rattled off by the Region: in the week from 29 November to 5 December the inoculations on the island were a total of 75,805, of which 64,972 booster doses and 4,836 first doses.

A significant increase compared to the previous week, from 22 to 28 November, where the total amount of administrations marked 53,216 doses of which 44,514 boosters and 3,652 first inoculations. If you go back further, the numbers have more than doubled when compared to the week from 15 to 21 November, where the total recorded is 34,045 doses of which 25,875 boosters and 2,888 first doses.

The Open Day organized in Cagliari for third doses to the categories of workers with vaccination obligation (health personnel, school and law enforcement) did its duty, with almost 1,400 doses administered on Sunday.

"The new increase in administrations - comments the governor Christian Solinas - is a very positive sign in this phase of the vaccination campaign. The battle is not yet won, but we see the important results achieved reflected on the current impact that Covid is recording on hospitalizations, where employment in intensive care units settles at 6% and hospitalizations in the medical area at 5%, both below the critical threshold. However, the virus remains a threat for the spread of variants. The vaccine is our strongest weapon and we will continue to strengthen the hubs and vaccination points throughout the territory in order to continue to defend the health of the Sardinians and our economic and social fabric ".

"The trend of vaccinations in this phase is good, particularly delicate due to the spread of the fourth wave in Europe and in some Italian regions", echoes the regional councilor for health, Mario Nieddu. "In Sardinia - adds Nieddu - 2.7 million doses were administered. The campaign machine works and we are strengthening the hubs in every respect to continue in the direction we have marked".
