Three Sardinian locations are among the 50 top destinations chosen by Italians for Ferragosto. This is according to the latest report from Holidu.it , a vacation rental booking portal, which also examined the average costs for each destination.

On the island, San Teodoro stands out, taking second place after San Vito Lo Cascio in Sicily, Olbia in ninth place and Alghero in 23rd.

San Teodoro and Olbia are also among the most expensive destinations: the former at €275 per night, the latter at €236 . Palinuro, in Campania, leads the rankings at €339 per night, followed by Sperlonga, in Lazio, at €308.

A striking finding in the 2025 edition of Holidu's report is that all 50 of the most searched destinations are Italian, unlike last year, when at least six foreign locations were included, including popular Spanish destinations like Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Valencia, Benidorm, and Lloret de Mar, as well as Nice, France. This confirms the strong preference for domestic tourism, likely linked to a desire to rediscover the region, but also to the quality and variety of offerings available in Italy.
