There were moments of fear this afternoon on the island of Mal di Ventre, off the coast of Sinis. A tourist was injured while hiking on the rocks: he fell and sustained multiple wounds and trauma on impact. Rescue services were immediately alerted, and some of the people who were with him called the emergency number 112, which in turn activated the Areus rescue helicopter (alerting the Port Authority patrol boat would have taken longer).

A helicopter arrived on the scene from Olbia. Paramedics stabilized the injured man and transferred him to Sassari Hospital with a yellow code.

The rescue operation took place under the eyes of many tourists who are enjoying the crystal-clear sea of the island of Mal di Ventre these days.
