In the heart of the Park on 27 July 1966, in Poggio dei Pini, a sign appeared which is attracting the attention of residents and visitors. This unusual sign, different from the usual prohibitions that populate the streets of our cities, reads: "Guests are invited to walk on the lawn". An invitation to break ordinary rules, but with a profound meaning that goes beyond the green surface of the park.

This new sign, carrying a message of freedom and connection with nature, embodies the philosophy of a garden city to be experienced and inhabited fully, as Sergio Arizio, vice-president of the cooperative company that manages the park, explains: «This new sign embodies our philosophy of a garden city to be experienced and inhabited fully. Let's leave behind the restrictions that prohibit stepping on the grass that litters public gardens. We invite everyone to walk freely on the meadows of Poggio dei Pini, to breathe the fresh air, to enjoy the beauty of nature so that the sense of belonging to our wonderful natural heritage is strengthened."

In an era where urbanization and development often threaten green spaces, this initiative represents a light of hope for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future. Trampling on the lawn at Poggio dei Pini is not just an act of disobedience to the rules, but a step towards a broader and more respectful vision of our relationship with the natural world.
