Not just the crystal clear sea. The environment, cultural heritage, traditions and agri-food production of the Cabras area were also promoted. But above all all the projects that the Municipality has in the pipeline: works on the coasts, interventions on mobility and energy efficiency, tourist information and environmental education.

The Sinis Marine Protected Area has obtained reconfirmation as a European sustainable tourism destination from Europarc with the release of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism.

The Europarc Federation is a German-based organization that represents a network of national protected areas spread across Europe and which plays a role in environmental tourism policies. An important achievement for Cabras, sealed in Brussels in the headquarters of the European Parliament, where the awards ceremony was held. Mayor Andrea Abis and park director Massimo Marras were present.

«The confirmation of this certification demonstrates that we are working according to a horizon of extraordinary opportunities which, day after day, we are seizing - says Abis - The tourism marketing perspective to which we will now turn our attention will be that of the birth of a Destination Management Organization - for the Sinis tourist destination. A great challenge, which to date has not been overcome."

In order to confirm its presence among the destinations recognized by the Charter, a complex analysis work was undertaken consisting of the creation of an Action Plan which includes the five-year period 2023-2027, 61.

«We are working tirelessly to ensure that our marine area can increasingly be an opportunity for the territory - stated the director of the Marine Area Massimo Marras - We believe in the projects that arise to enhance our area of recognized naturalistic value at an international level and we are proud to receive such recognition, which encourages us to proceed in this direction, in close collaboration with local institutions, businesses and tourism operators, in order to protect and enhance the natural and cultural heritage".
